NL – In “Ghana Must Go”, geeft Dylan Asare (1997, BE) zijn ervaring als tweede generatie Belgo-Ghanees weer aan de hand van zijn schilderijen. In zijn werk onderzoekt hij de constructie van zijn ‘hybride’ identiteit, de ruwe waarheid schuwt hij niet. In samenwerking met scenograaf Eva Dinneweth (1995, BE) weerspiegelt hij met verf de assimilaties en invloeden die meespelen in deze identiteitsconstructie. Dylan Asare verkent wie hij is als kunstenaar en als persoon, wie hij is op het doek en in het echte leven.

EN – In “Ghana Must Go”, Dylan Asare (1997, BE) explores his second-generation Belgian-Ghanaian experience through his paintings. In his work, he studies the construction of his ‘hybrid’ identity, not ashamed to show the unfiltered truth. In collaboration with scenographer Eva Dinneweth (1995, BE) he reflects with his paintings the assimilations and influences involved in this construction of identity. Dylan Asare explores who he is as an artist and as an individual, who he is on his canvas and in real life.
